Matwork

Alongside exercises on his specifically designed equipment, Joseph Pilates created a whole series of exercises that can be performed on a basic mat - again either at home or e.g. in our studio in Suffolk.

During a matwork class you will learn about neutral postural alignment, breathing and engaging your deep local stabilising muscles. Each exercise is performed with concentration and control and targets specific muscles.

Over the weeks you will improve your posture, flexibility, mobility and strength.Small pieces of equipment, foam rollers, stability balls, chi balls, dyna bands may also be used during these sessions.
